Cake Boss - Carlo's Bakery

While on assignment in New Jersey for a couple days, strolled by Carlo's Bakery, home of the TV series "Cake Boss". It was freezing outside and yet the line was two blocks long. Those must be some very tasty pastries.

Roycroft

During a project near Buffalo, we ate lunch at the historic Roycroft Inn located in East Aurora, NY. During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s Elbert Hubbard developed a self-contained community of craftspeople. The community was a Mecca for Arts and Crafts people, and such notables as Frank Lloyd Wright and Gustav Stickley were participants. The beautiful wicker furniture in the lobby is a prime example of the products of that time, and the rooms at the inn are named after famous artists and poets of the time.

School District Auditing Conference

HVaudit participated in the webcast of the annual School District Auditing Conference. Our focus is on the Internal Auditing aspects, but the conference is always helpful in understanding the different nuances of School Districts.

Salt Lake City

Not much time for a pretty picture, but no picture can truly capture the beauty of Salt Lake City. Dan Vinton and Tim Hungerford were on assignment there for a couple days and at least got to breath in the fresh air.

IFRS Conference in NYC

Our firm attended the IFRS conference on 10/28/2010 in NYC at the headquarters of the Foundation of Accounting Education. The one-day session focused on updates and implementation. SUNY Brockport Accounting Society

Tim Hungerford poses with the SUNY Brockport Accounting Society Officers after a one-hour discussion on various topics in the accounting industry. The candid conversation covered many topics including certifications, job hunting, industry challenges, the importance of internships, and Tim also discussed a couple forensic cases.

Rochester IIA Presentation 10-21-10 on Cost Recovery & Contract Compliance

Tim Hungerford presented several Cost Recovery and Contract Compliance opportunities to the Rochester Chapter of the IIA on Thursday 10-21-10 at the Xerox Corporation. About a dozen different companies were present. Tim discussed marketing promotion audits to the general Accounts Payable audit, some of the feedback was:

-Tim was a good presenter and provided us with a different prospective.
-Tim knows his craft well.
